ILOILO PARAW REGATTA FESTIVAL
The Paraw Regatta Festival of Iloilo City in Panay Island is the oldest traditional craft event in Asia, and the largest sailing event in the Philippines. The purpose of the Regatta is to celebrate the skills of the paraw sailors, and bring a courage into their live. And with the glittering of a colorful painted sails, this spirit is brought into the lives of participant and tourist as well.
40th - Iloilo Paraw Regatta Festival 2012 Tentative Schedule of Activities February 05 To 17, 2012 Sailboat or Paraw sailed thirty-kilometers distance from Villa Beach, Iloilo Strait running up the coast of Panay and down the coast of Guimaras strait and back to Villa Beach, and skills needed to sail are far more complex.

Samba Regatta Festival: Is one of the special event of Paraw Regatta after the take-off of the competing Paraws; while waiting, the Samba de Regatta and Mardi Gras competitors will entertain the audience to their dance and colorful costumes.
